Lately I've been hearing from people that a dog trainer told them not to say "NO" to their dogs. Really? Thats crazy! Dogs need information. They need to know which behaviors are unacceptable.
While its true that repeating "no, no, no" (especially to a puppy or a new dog) all the time isn't particularly helpful, they need you to teach them both what they should and what they should NOT do. The "no" part is the other side of the "dogs need information" coin, isn't it? Without boundaries, without a clear understanding of what is acceptable behavior, in the end the dogs will suffer. Don't let dog training trends rob you of common sense.
